GOOD EVENING EVERYONE! Just swinging by real quick tonight to share with you a few bits and bops I’m totally getting around as of late. With the sun setting onto a new week, I’m feeling alarmingly inspired by my usual gold & blush details and the pastel views of Palm Cove beach. Having never, not once started a morning without a strong, hot coffee, my newest tea ware set from Cristina Re is adding all sorts of delight to my desk/mess situation. The gold detailing and crisp white is simply divine and everything I needed in my life.
GOOD EVENING EVERYONE! Although recently somewhat partial to a ‘cropped denim short’, Melbourne’s summer weather [or lack there of…] has caused me to return to my denim roots, and by roots I mean my beloved Mom-jeans. Having sported this denim style for quite some time, I’ve usually always opted for stealing my actual Mum’s jeans to create the desired effect, however with TopShop Au launching such a diverse collection of denim, my mum’s oversized Levis’ may no longer be required*. I paired my latest pair (#Hehe) with a bank-robber** inspired top, a Status Anxiety black leather wallet and high-top cons for a basic monochrome look.
First things first, my sincerest apologies for my unplanned ten-day hiatus, between enjoying the summertime sunshine, preparing myself for a busy year ahead and spending one too many summer evenings sipping Rosé by sunset, I managed to temporarily forget about the whole blog thing, ya know? Totally normal right? Right. BUT I am back, with zero intentions to disappear again anytime soon!
…And so it is here… 2016. Well, to be fair it was here yesterday too…But everyone knows the first day of a new year is best spent nursing a hangover in bed, swearing to never drink ever again ever with family and friends. So forgive my one-day-delay – today’s new year firsts were all about coffee sipping, Fitzroy strolling and mohair loving in my newest cheeky little Christmas purchase.
With Christmas only a few days away, I have a few little things I want to share with you! From easy to bake (even for me!) Christmas-inspired shortbread to other foody family traditions, but before that, here is my easy-breezy, budget-friendly Christmas Day outfit. Inspired by the magical European WHITE CHRISTMAS, I figured if not geographically possible, I’d make it fashionably possible. As I prepare to melt on Christmas Day (35 degrees… not chic), I’ve put together an outfit that should hopefully keep me somewhat cool without taking away from the whole fashion thing. Oh, and I say budget friendly, as well, the entire outfit [minus accessories] is from Forever New!
Inspired by the light linen, denim-cut-offs trend this summer, I recreated my favourite Sunday-afternoon-summer-look using pieces from Target’s new summer range. This is my ultimate Sunday-wear outfit. Paired with white sneakers and a take-away coffee in the morning, and dressed up with a strappy black heel, a clutch and a cocktail for the evening, this is an outfit I will quite literally live in. I opted for a monochromatic look, and added a touch of blush (duh!) with my neck ribbon (duh!) and nail polish. As for the perfectly blush coloured roses? Total STEAL, I got 5 bunches for $5 at the Camberwell Market yesterday morning. I know right, what even?
As the week hits its hump, I wanted to share a few dreamy photographs from the weekend that was. I spend Sunday doing all sorts of Sunday things, like early morning coffee catch-up with friends, followed by Camberwell Market visits and freshly-cut flower pick-ups. I also had a little revelation that my Sundays’ are about 10 times better with a vintage-inspired Papillionaire bicycle in it. Operating not only as my newest mode of transportation, it has indeed become my latest fashion accessory. Plus the cheeky little wooden basket is the perfect level of chic and sturdy to carry all my little Sunday things.
With summer finally somewhat in full swing, I’ve been eager to ride around in my newest mode of transportation aka my custom made Papillionaire vintage-inspired bicycle. I mean, I’m practically one French baguette and a bunch of freshly cut flowers off being a true Parisian or something like that… Either way, this funky new way of getting from A to B is totally for me (hashtag can rhyme). And don’t even get me started on this chic basket, leather-crafted saddle situation. Plus, the copper detailing and cream exterior totally compliment my outfit choices… just sayin’.
Good Evening Everyone! Having spoken exhaustively about the idea behind mood-dressing (aka – dressing with ones mood, whatever it may be…), last week my mood was channeling some serious all-black-everything;black-like-my-soul;biker-babe-vibes, so I just rolled with it. Inspired by Lee Jeans’ half overall/half top situation (unclear what exactly one would call this, but either way, it’s fantastic), I added a cheeky little USA Forever 21 purchase underneath and some slightly oversized, somewhat purposely washed-out skinny jeans to complete the look (also Lee Jeans). With summer apparently-but-not-really in full swing, this outfit was perfect for the cool Melbourne breeze, and when the mood strikes, I’ll definitely be wearing it again.
