‘I’m all about that BASS FASHION’*
Last night I attended MSFW @ Melbourne Town Hall – Designer Show Runway One with my best friend Katarina (also known as pretty friend who enjoys brunch and travelling to Japan…here). The show was amazing to say the least – think monochrome Carla Zampatti gowns, Anaessia ballerina-style-wedding-gown luxury and Chuck Bass inspired-tailored-to-perfection suits by Dom Bagnato… Yep. Absolutely Flawless. Throw in a few Mecca Cosmetica goodies from the MSFW Hub and a couple of free pizzas from Bimbos on Brunswick Street and you’ve got yourself a pretty good Tuesday night.

First things first, * apologies for my lack of posts, I have been awfully busy preparing myself physically, emotionally and (primarily) spiritually for Melbourne Spring Fashion Week (MSFW) this week – (that is a lie, truth is – unfortunately my assignments do not write themselves…).

Today I spent the entire day (I am talking 9-5 people) working on my ridiculous amount of assessment tasks all due within the next 3-5 days. (…Every semester I become increasingly suspicious –does my University purposely plan to make all my assignments due on the exact same weekend? Do they think this is some kind of joke? Because I assure you, I, and all the other students who haven’t slept since last week, are not laughing…) Anyways after writing, re-writing, re-wording, deleting, starting again, stopping, drinking too much coffee, and eventually just giving up and watching the Bachelor* instead… I finally completed 1 of my 1 million assessment tasks today…

Over the weekend I attended a furniture and interior design expo at ‘The Kitchen’ in Richmond, Melbourne. Being a passionate pillow purchaser (yes that is a thing) I have always had a rather bizarre infatuation with all things home/décor/interior-inspired.

Anyone who has been following my blog for more than five milliseconds* would know I have developed a rather intense addiction to all things Robb & Lulu – their beautiful silky garments, bright coloured bikinis and intimates make getting dressed in the morning so much easier (…and far more exciting too). Anyway, as if the fashion gods really did actually hear my prayers (if you don’t understand this reference look here), Lulu** – as in the fashion-forward, colourful, creative mind behind the ridiculously amazing colours, patterns and designs THAT IS Robb & Lulu – contacted ME (!?) after seeing some of my posts featuring her beautiful collection***

Amid the craziness that was my week, there is always time for shopping…
One of my subjects this semester at Uni focuses on the management of internationally recognized, high quality-low cost brands and how they have rapidly infiltrated the fashion industry over the past decade. My most recent assignment for this unit focuses on a case study regarding the brand H&M (best…subject…EVER!!) and whilst everyone else seems to be sticking to the assigned case study (??), I felt it necessary to, lets say, take matters into my own hands… You know, do a bit of my own research… and by research I really just mean spend the afternoon shopping at H&M… But, well, it was a necessary process for my learning – and my grades will thank me for it later (my bank account, however, will not).

When the going gets tough, the tough go shopping*…
After an excruciatingly long working week of multitasking my way through life, it is so nice to take five minutes (or perhaps an entire Friday night) to relax and rejuvenate** for a very busy weekend ahead. Today as I was strutting my stuff through the city, (actually just running errands for my boss), and drinking my tall-skinny-latte like it was nobody’s business, I couldn’t help but reminisce on some of my (what feels like recent, but actually seven months ago) travelling adventures.

When life gives you lemons, sell them & go buy pretty things*…
This morning as I was half cleaning out/half throwing more into my favourite on-the-go, monochrome-perfection clutch handbag, I decided that all my life necessities (yes, they are ALL necessities) looked so pretty lying all over my desk all clueless at how much I need them and that they really did deserve some blogger-recognition, because without these necessities… well I would be nothing…

For any normal person ‘The Weekend(!!!)’ entails long sleep ins, afternoon walks with the family dog, reading rubbish magazines and re-watching old family favourites, however as a third year law student with zero mid-week motivation, one too many part-time jobs and far more coffee-date plans than sense, it is unlikely that I will be spending any down time with the family pet* this weekend.

One of my most precious friends, Katarina, just got back from Japan (she was only gone for two weeks but I swear it felt like ten…) and what better way to celebrate her return then to go and dine at one of the newest and most sought-after cafes in Melbourne… The Kettle Black in South Melbourne. The food wasn’t really for us, but the interior, atmosphere and overall décor definitely was (and not to mention her company is always perfect), but well, they can’t all get it right can they?
